Alice Cooper to host Parnelli Awards
LAS VEGAS — The “Oscars” of the live event industry, The Parnelli Awards, will grow in scope and star-power this year. Alice Cooper will be part of the proceedings, which will include emceeing the Award Show, among other things. “Alice Cooper is not only a respected rock legend, but he’s also a genuinely hilarious guy,” says PLSN and FOH publisher Terry Lowe “He will be the foundation to which we build our best, most entertaining Parnelli celebration yet.”

Dennis Sheehan to Receive Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award
Tour Manager for U2 will receive the “Oscar® of Live Production’s” highest honor at gala award ceremony

LAS VEGAS—The Parnelli Awards Board of Directors announced that Dennis Sheehan will be receiving this year’s Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award honoring his four decades in the live entertainment industry. Currently Tour Manager for U2, the venerable professional will be honored for his work and contributions at an award ceremony in Las Vegas on October 24, 2008.

The PLSN/FOH/Parnelli Celebrity Golf Classic

No matter if you’re an old pro or have just recently picked up the clubs, you’re invited to tee up at the 2008 PLSN/FOH Parnelli Celebrity Classic at the luxurious Siena Golf Club in Las Vegas this October 23. Proceeds from the Parnelli Celebrity Classic will benefit the Solid Rock Foundation, a non-profit organization helmed by Alice Cooper to teach at-risk teens the skills needed to become leaders in the live event industry.

Money will help fund new entertainment technology program.

President of Timeless Communication, publisher of PLSN, FOH, and now Stage Directions magazine Terry Lowe announced at the Parnelli Awards Dinner the launching of a one-of-a-kind Entertainment Engineering and Design program at the University of Nevada—Las Vegas and the Parnelli/PLSN/FOH Scholarship Fund that will be supporting it.
