Parnelli Board Announces 2009 Sponsors
Industry Leaders Generously Support Our “Oscars©”
LOS ANGELES—The Parnelli Award Board of Advisors is pleased to announce the first round of sponsors for the 2009 Parnelli Awards.
To date the Gold Sponsors include: EFM Management, Strictly FX, Brown United, Precise Corporate Staging, Dedicated Staging, Sound Image, and Sennheiser. All Access Staging & Production and Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems are a Silver Sponsor. Production Partner Sponsors include: Paradise Sound & Lighting (audio); Technilux (lighting); Aerial Rigging (rigging); Stage Crew (labor); and PRG (projection).
Yamaha and Sennheiser are the newest sponsors.

Larry Italia of Yamaha says they are also pleased to be sponsors this year, especially as Neil Diamond’s long time engineer and Yamaha consultant Stan Miller is receiving the Parnelli Audio Innovator Award. “Stan isn’t on the cutting edge, he is on the bleeding edge,” states Italia. “He is fearless, has remarkable instincts, and possesses a wonderfully curious mind.” Miller’s work over the years contributed directly to the development of some of Yamaha’s most popular products, including the PM1D and PM5D pro audio all digital consoles.

Lowe adds he looks forward to welcoming more aboard in the near future, as the lavish event itself and the opportunities it brings makes it worthy of the organizations who support it.
Since 2001, over a hundred of our industry’s highest achievers and most admired innovators have been awarded the Parnelli. The award recognizes pioneering, influential professionals and companies and their contributions. Much more than just about being the person who performs his or her craft expertly, the Parnelli is also about moving our industry forward with the same qualities that defined the person for whom it is named—Rick “Parnelli” O’Brien, an extraordinary production manager and human being. O’Brien passed away from cancer leaving behind a wife and three young children, and this event honors him and all he stood for.
More than 20 awards for live event excellence will be presented at the Parnelli Awards at a gala dinner on November 20 in Orlando. In addition to Miller, High End’s Richard Belliveau is receiving the Parnelli Visionary Award, and U2’s production manager Jake Berry is receiving the Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award.
